Truman came out of the Pendergast Machine. Obama seems to have come out of this with a lot of innocence.

The Messiah is sweetness and light; daffodils and sunshine; healing and resurrection. So ignore the fact that the Illinois and Chicago political machines are roiling cesspools of graft and corruption. Because His Holiness is incorruptible. He alone has emerged from the fetid sewer untainted and unswerving in His dedication to purity. What is so hard to understand about this? The Anointed One transcended the vile morass of Land of Lincoln political machinations, yes; but more importantly, he passed through, exploiting the dirty tricksters when necessary—wheeling, dealing, stealing—without evincing so much as a blemish on one of His perfectly tailored suits.

Hallelujah! Innocence intact, chastity confirmed, He truly is a worker of miraculous miracles!
